Ying, founder of AASTRAL Beauty — 12 years making faces read on camera, and people feel like themselves in the chair.

Bio

Ying Cui — known to many in the industry simply as Pris — is the founder and lead artist of AASTRAL Beauty and AASTRAL Lab, a Singapore-based makeup and hair artist with 12 years across editorial, bridal, celebrity, and runway work.

Her range is the point. She moves easily between male and female talent, between a magazine cover and a wedding morning, between bold editorial colour and skin that just looks like the best version of itself. A background in psychology quietly informs all of it — she reads the person as closely as the face.

She has collaborated with Burberry Beauty, Tom Ford Beauty, Cartier, Chanel, Shu Uemura, L’Oréal, Salvatore Ferragamo, Montblanc, Nike and Adidas, with editorial work featured across Elle Singapore, Female, Nuyou, T Singapore, Mensfolio, Pin Prestige, A+ Singapore, and Icon Singapore. Her celebrity and music clientele includes actor Ayden Sng, MediaCorp artiste Cheryl Chou, Lawrence Wong, David Foster, Jamie Chua, Lin Ying, and pianist Churen Li. Runway credits include the London Queer Fashion Show at London Fashion Week 2016, Milan Fashion Week with Onitsuka Tiger SS24 and SS26 alongside Ayden Sng, and Chanel Cruise 2026.

The founder of Grace & Grit — now in its 4th year — Ying runs free makeup masterclasses for underprivileged girls in partnership with United Women Singapore, alongside public ticketed sessions with 50% of proceeds going to SCWO Star Shelter.

Last seated on the Mensfolio Grooming Awards panel in 2022, she returns for the 2026 Beauty Awards — full circle.

And when the kit’s packed away, you’ll most likely find her happiest over a plate of plaster prata after a long day’s work.

Hygiene — Sanitised tools, disposable applicators, nothing double- dipped. Always, not on request.
